[Impulsive sex and dessert, huh? Turns out Iwai knows a pretty good place for that. It's one of those more modern love hotels that presents itself with innocuous class on the outside while keeping its specialties hidden within, and the cakes on their room service menu happen to be one of those specialties. The rooms aren't even too outlandish, which is definitely to Iwai's tastes.
He doesn't frequent love hotels for the adventure or novelty, after all. He's just got a son at home who doesn't need to know a single, solitary thing about his father's sex life.
Iwai holds the door for Yuri to enter when they reach their room, then steps inside himself and toes off his shoes. He's intrigued by the way that Yuri made such a bold advance only to brush off his first touch, so he decides to keep his distance at first and see how Yuri reacts; instead of reaching straight for him, he reaches for the complimentary bottle of sparkling wine.]
Wanna have a shower first? [His fingers peel idly at the foil cap but his attention is entirely on Yuri.] We can go in together, unless you're more of a solo showerer.
[The club where Iwai plays with a pretty consummate Dad Band, filling in for their lead guitarist while he heals from a tendon strain, is completely different in atmosphere from Jazz Jin. It's more like the rock bars in Shinjuku, with everyone in fashionably tattered jeans and band t-shirts and the smell of stale cigarette smoke and beer thick in the air - probably not the sort of place where Akechi will feel comfortable, but at least he's got Iwai on stage as a distraction.
And it turns out that Iwai was unnecessarily modest about his abilities, because he can shred. The music's more modern than he tends to like, with lots of 90s funk metal and the odd dip into more straightforward alternative rock, but it's obvious from the lazy grin on his face that he's having the time of his life regardless.
A few minutes after the set ends, Iwai tracks Akechi down. He's not dressed all that differently from what he wears on an average day at the store - just a snug white t-shirt in place of the black turtleneck, a khaki green button-down with rolled up sleeves in place of his jacket, and no hat - but his aura's still infinitely cooler with a guitar bag hanging off one shoulder and a cigarette hanging from his lips instead of a lollipop stick.]
Akechi-kun. [True to his promise, he doesn't even bother sitting down, just gestures to the door. Onstage, another band is already setting up.] Wanna go somewhere we can hear ourselves think?
[ Ren was usually pretty good at playing it cool, keeping an even head, and staying focused, especially when he had other things to occupy his mind, but in the days leading up to his next shift at Untouchable, he kept finding his imagination wandering and his phone scrolling back through his messages with Iwai. He was nervous, but also excited. This was new, and had a lot of potential to be something exciting.
Finally came the fated Saturday. He did his best to hurry in the baths after school and was a little late as promised as a result. Despite the still-damp hair, he did his best to play it like any other shift, just in case Iwai had changed his mind, though it was difficult not to keep his hopes up, especially not with the distracted glances he'd catch himself making during downtime.
Ren was doing his best to stay on top of his tasks, to be as helpful as he could be. Whether it was to stay on his boss' good side or to prove he could indeed be a good listener and take instruction well... it was something of a toss-up. Really, all he could do was wait. And it was killing him inside. ]
